Weekend might bring second heat wave of the year

Our meteorologist Andrea Romero gives us an update on the current weather conditions in the tri-state area.

Weekend might bring second heat wave of the year

While we escaped much of the rain with a storm system sliding to our east overnight, we can still get some isolated shower or thunderstorms, especially east and north of the city this afternoon. Tomorrow we can also experience some isolated storms but the heat will take center stage as temperatures climb into the 90’s by Sunday, with even hotter and more humid weather for the beginning of next week.  We could be looking at our second heat wave of the year and summer hasn’t even started yet!

Surf forecast:  High UV index, Moderate to High rip current risk, water temperatures in the upper 50’s to lower 60’s.
