Showers and thunderstorms plague the holiday weekend

Our meteorologist Andrea Romero gives us an update on the current weather conditions in the tri-state area.

Today our holiday weekend getaway will be hot and humid with the chance of some isolated storms, especially in northern and western suburbs.

Tomorrow, the chance of seeing some convection increases so be prepared to bring your barbeque indoors during the afternoon with some storms capable of producing locally heavy rainfall.

Sunday will see some showers and storms, although the coverage will diminish as a cold front slides through bringing a more stable air mass on Monday and Tuesday with lots of sun and temperatures in the 80’s expected for the 4th of July.

Friday
High: 88, Mostly sunny with the slight chance of rain showers and thunderstorms, especially north and west. Mostly cloudy evening with the chance of showers and thunderstorms and lows in the lower 70’s.

Saturday
High: 84, Mostly Cloudy with chance of rain showers and thunderstorms

Sunday
High: 87, Partly sunny with chance of rain showers and thunderstorms

Monday
